Events and School Visits
One of my favourite things in life is talking about stories, sparking young people’s imaginations, helping them become confident with their ideas and writing, and finding magic in the everyday.

Having been a professor of literature I love speaking about books. I have spoken to large and small groups at both primary and secondary schools and at literary festivals like the International Literature Festival Dublin and the West Cork Literary Festival. I can adapt my visit to your needs, from large festival events or assemblies to small book clubs and creative writing workshops and can also do online events. I will consistently bring enthusiasm and boundless joy for stories.
I also co-host a podcast about children’s books called Storyshaped. We’ve done live podcast events, including one at the International Literature Festival Dublin with author Kieran Larwood so if you are interested in hosting a live podcast event, please contact me.
If you are a bookseller in the UK and Ireland, please do get in touch about author visits.

I’m based in London but very happy to travel, and am often home in Ireland, where the book is based, and I would love to visit your school or bookshop there. I am also happy to do online events. Please get in touch with your needs.
My rates for school visits are in line with the Society of Authors guidance. Please contact me to discuss the kind of event you’d like and for further information about the kinds of events I offer.

Susan Cahill recently visited us here in St. Joseph's Clonakilty. The girls loved her book, Between The Rain, and were very excited to meet her and she did not disappoint. Fun and fascinating interactions around the writing process that we all enjoyed immensely! I would recommend her to any school.

Online Author Talk:
Susan was lovely to have! She shared her background and inspirations to the students in writing her book "The World Between the Rain". It was a lovely opportunity for the students to talk to the author and ask further questions about the book they've been reading. She also gave us some writing tips on how to write better, more cohesive stories.
